About the Melbourne Lindy Exchange

Lindy Hop swing dancing communities are thriving in cities across Australasia.  From Perth to Sydney, Hobart to Brisbane, Lismore to Singapore, Auckland to Adelaide, and in many other cities you can find people discovering one of the most exciting social dances of the modern era.

The idea for the Melbourne Lindy Exchange is something that came about as a result of Lindy Hoppers at recent workshops getting together and deciding that we need to encourage dancers to discover what is going on in our own region. We have a wealth of talent and enthusiasm for this dance on our doorstep: we just need an excuse to get together and discover it!

We have arranged a schedule of events over three days, from Friday Nov 23 to Sunday Nov 25.  The emphasis is on dancing together, so we have arranged for as much social dancing as we can pack into a weekend.  The full schedule is available on the schedule page.  We have also planned for the serious swinger in all of us.  There is a rich programme of daytime workshop classes available by some of the most exciting and talented ambassadors of Lindy Hop we can imagine.   For all the details, see the workshops page.
