Sing Lim at MLX 2002 (15 May)
MLX will be over the weekend of November 22-24 in 2002. With over six months to go, plans the second MLX are already well underway! We're extremely happy to be able to announce that the internationally renowned Sing Lim and Chang Meng from Jitterbugs Swingapore have confirmed that they'll be coming along to show us how it's done Singapore style, along with their top teachers Fen and Sinclair. MLX will again include teachers from around Australia in a really fantastic workshop programme over Saturday and Sunday. Watch for more details, and a brand new website here soon!

Wow! What a weekend. While we all collect our energy after such a huge weekend of social dancing, workshops, swing bowling, blues dancing, and just generally having a great time, we'd just like to say how grateful we are to everyone who was a part of the first Melbourne Lindy Exchange. Look for information soon about how to order the MLX 2001 video, T-shirts, and other stuff. We'll also
be sending out a survey to everyone who has given us their email address so that we can get some feedback to help us plan for next time around.

You can now book your MLX Ball tickets online. Just fill in the form and submit it, and we'll have your tickets waiting when you arrive. If you want to have your tickets sent out by mail, we can arrange that too. All the details on the Ball Tickets page. Oh, and what's the secret location? Don't worry, we'll email it to you when you book!!
MLX Ball & Social Events
The number one question coming in to us about the MLX now is "how can I get involved in the social events??". Lots of people are worried that they won't be able to attend the social events due to the workshops being sold out. Nothing could be further from the truth! In fact, the sell out of the workshops is enabling us to plan even more social events than before! We'll have alternative activities during the day for those unable to attend the workshops, and more activities at night for you to choose from. Most importantly, everyone and anyone will be at the MLX Ball! If you're booked in for a workshop, you already have a pass. If you're not, you will be able to buy a Ball ticket very soon for only $25. Stay tuned!
Travel and Accommodation bookings (18 Sept)
A special message for those who booked early to come to the MLX! If you have booked with Ansett Airlines and you're wondering what to do, we recommend reading this important message for Ansett customers on the the QANTAS Airways website. For those who are yet to book travel, we recommend you get in straight away and make your bookings. We also encourage you to book your accommodation as soon as possible so that we can get you matched up with a Lindy host! For those who have already booked, you will be contacted soon with further information, and for Melbourne swingers wishing to be a Lindy host, you can offer accommodation here.
Full Passes Sold Out (6 Sept)
Well, it's a week since we opened registrations to the workshops, and we're already close to capacity! There is still a handful of 5 Class Passes left, so if you're planning on attending, please get in soon. On the other hand, for those who are just planning to have a fun weekend of social dancing, we're going to be adding more events during the workshop times for everyone else! Watch for more details here soon, and check out the Schedule for all the current info on the wonderful events already planned, including the MLX Ball, which is a must for everyone!
Schedule updated (3 Sept)
Just a quick update to let everyone know what's happening with plans for the MLX! We've been inundated with people from everywhere (including Singapore, Canada, Ireland and the US!) wanting full passes! This means that we're going to sell out of Full Passes very quickly. So, we recommend that you think carefully about getting a 5 Class Pass to give yourself a good chance of enjoying all of the social events! There are still a few full passes left, but you'll need to be pretty quick. If you're travelling from outside of Melbourne, we're keeping a few aside because we realise that people need to make travel arrangements. Also, be sure to check the updated Schedule for new information including the Friday workshop venue and the vintage shopping spree, and see the Workshops page for an updated timetable to include a break for those hardcore swingers who want to do everything that day!
