The MLX 2003: Harlem Comes To Melbourne video tape is now shipping! The 123 min video was produced this year by award winning director Jaqui Davis of big jaq films and is of a very high standard. It includes all MLX workshop routines, Harlem tribute performances by Frida and Zack, Gordon and Solomon and Yvette Johansson, highlights from The Australian Hellzapoppin' Prize, and interviews with the teachers. The video costs $AU45 + postage.

We're already getting a lot of enquiries about MLX 2004. The big news is that next year's Melbourne Lindy Exchange will be combined with the international Swing City festival. As a result, this year will see an expanded calendar of events, from November 24th to December 2nd. So start planning your travel now!

If you thought that the MLX 2001 and 2002 videos were pretty special, this year you'll be in for a huge surprise. We're lucky enough to have a full video crew to document MLX 2003, lead by award-winning Film Director Jaqui Davis. Jaqui is a VCA graduate who recently received the SBS 'Eat Carpet' Award at the St Kilda Film Festival and her most recent project, 'The Melbourne Shuffle' is about the local dance craze of the same name. You may also have noticed that it usually takes us quite a long time to complete the editing process for MLX videos! This year, with a dedicated video production team, you can expect your video to arrive in January! Good news for everyone. Be sure to order your video when you register to avoid delay.

Registrations for Full MLX passes are now open. If you want to be sure to get a place in the workshops, we recommend you get in fast. There are 60 places for leads, and 60 for follows. This year, there will be extra workshop classes on special topics held on Friday and Monday as well. Details on these will be released soon! Registrations for Social Event passes will be available in the coming weeks.

The Melbourne Lindy Exchange is excited to announce that Frida Segerdahl & Sakarias Larsson from the world famous Swedish dance troupe The Harlem Hot Shots (formerly The Rhythm Hot Shots) will be the third internationally renowned couple to be teaching Lindy Hop at the third annual Melbourne Lindy Exchange in November. Frida and Zack have taught workshops all over the world, including the USA, Russia, and all over Europe. As a competition and performance couple, Frida and Zack are virtually unrivalled. The couple has never before appeared in Australia.
