It's no exaggeration to say that our incredible volunteers make MLX possible, which means we give a lot of love to our volunteer crew!
Volunteering in 2026
There are all kinds of shifts available this MLX, including set up and pack down shifts that won't eat into your dancing time! It's also a great way to make some new friends, whether you're local or visiting from interstate.
If you volunteer for a total of 4 hours over MLX weekend, you will be refunded the cash back amount of $100.
If you want to be part of the magic, don't forget to let us know you're interested when purchasing your ticket to MLX. If you express your interest, you will be contacted in September 2026 to organise the details.
Late Night Legends
We also have a select number of ‘Late night Legend’ roles, for those who are keen to help out at the end of our Late Night events. These roles will score you a full refund of your MLX ticket.

Your 2026 Volunteer Manager
Introducing this year’s volunteer manager: Kristen Barker.
Fun facts about Kristen - this is her third year on the MLX committee and her fourth MLX. She’s been a volunteer manager for large events such as TEDxPerth, and worked for large volunteering organisations such as Big Help Mob and Conservation Volunteers Australia. She has also managed volunteer experiences and leadership development programs for a decade at Monash University and Curtin University, and now runs her own consulting business.
